about

This piece was inspired by the Buddhist meditation of death called Maraṇasati, in which it is asked to think about the different stages of the decomposition of a corpse in order to learn to accept death as a natural and unavoidable fact. In this case, the body is made up of different sound objects, that progressively decompose through different sound treatments, until they all fade into a stream of undifferentiated grains.
